Luis Othon Villegas Solis earned a degree in architecture from Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara Mexico (1997) and a Master in Design Studies from Harvard University, Cambridge USA(2003). At Harvard University he was teaching assistant for Paola Antonelli, curator of Architecture and design at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.


He collaborated as research assistant to Professor Francois Vigier and Mona Serageldin at the Center for Urban Development Studies. Within his professional practice he joined architect Enrique Norten, TEN-Arquitectos in New York and collaborated in projects such as The Free Library of Philadelphia, Harlem Park & Marriot Hotel, and an exclusive participation with artist Lawrence Weiner at the Snow Show in Finland. He worked as a design manager for  David Rockwell and the Rockwellgroup in New York for projects such as Chambers Hotel Minneapolis, Meadowlands Xanadu and Siam Paragon in Bangkok.


He is currently the Director for the School of Architecture at CEDIM in Mexico (Centro de Estudios Superiores de Diseño de Monterrey) and has been an adjunct professor of Theory of Architecture at the ITESM (Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey Campus Guadalajara) and Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara (UAG). He has his professional practice in the USA and Mexico.

 

He is the founder and director for the Americas of The Urban Research Gang, A Global Network for Thought and Action on The City
