The project is an evaluation of the old versus new, it is in essence a super imposition of the nostalgic image of past memories and contemporaneousness, as well as the need to be welcome like at home. The concept is complex and full of eclectic ideas about the glamour and flashlights. It is an intermediate search for playfulness, the fashion and the social constraint. The place generates face to face ideas from the client, for the need of an alternative space on contemporariness but never exclusive place for all type of social groups. The main idea follows those characteristics of a cabaret, full of fabrics and color red. The design is generated through memories for the chic, those on spectacle, as one strong influence from those New York ideas on setting a theater; and to create an alive and daily performance, without going strictly to the idea of theme.
The general idea is centered on the conception of a wall and ceiling in a capitone style which become furniture and setting. The wall and ceiling contrast the logic of the stage and create a routine around it which is attached to a collective image: the living room. The production of the centerpiece is a direct reference to baroque images, red colors and French looms utilized specifically with a clear idea to imitate and to dislocate the visual interior. This is achieved through the mirrors on the walls and the advantage of the original building’s glass facade. The functions although restrictive spatially speaking, constituted the essence of the welcoming effect, the home alike feeling, those for touch in an intimate and relaxed atmosphere. It is a project without changes since its conception to its execution by being sharply clear, by the approach to the utopia of the client on the intimate, the social and the joyful. The bar maintains its social effect, intellectual conversations and jazz fills each space, which, along with the design conjugates a unique atmosphere, formally phenomenological and functionally playful.
El proyecto es una revaloración de lo antiguo, en esencia una súper imposición de la imagen nostálgica del pasado y la contemporaneidad al igual que de la necesidad de sentirse como en casa. Esta lleno de complejidad y en un revuelco de ideas eclécticas sobre el glamur y la clase. Es la búsqueda intermedia entre lo lúdico, la moda y la convivencia social. El lugar es un concepto generado vis a vis con el cliente, la necesidad de un espacio alternativo para el adulto contemporáneo pero jamás excluyente de cualquier otro grupo social. El diseño se genera en base al recuerdo, al espectáculo, al escenario y al teatro; a un teatro en vivo, un performance en escena. La idea general parte con la concepción de un muro capitoneado convertido en mueble y escenario. El muro y techo contrastan la lógica del uso cotidiano pero tienen fuerte apego a la imagen colectiva. La fabricación de dicho elemento es una secuencia de imágenes barrocas, colores rojos y telares franceses utilizados específicamente con una idea clara para mimetizar y dislocar las visuales en el interior.
Esto se logra con la manipulación de espejos en muros y la ventaja de los cristales originales de la fachada. Las opciones, aunque limitativas espacialmente hablando, constituyeron la esencia del efecto acogedor, del sentimiento de sala de una casa, de la convivencia en una atmosfera íntima y relajada. Es un proyecto sin cambios desde su concepción a su ejecución por ser agudamente claro, por el acercamiento a la utopía del cliente sobre lo íntimo, lo social y lo lúdico. El bar mantiene su efecto social, las conversaciones intelectuales y el jazz se vuelven parte del todo, y que junto con el diseño conjugan una atmosfera única, formalmente fenomenológica y funcionalmente lúdica.
